Painting is the art of applying paint on the walls of a room. However, painting can be done on everything and everywhere. Paint usually comprises three components including solvent, binder and pigment. The pigment adds color, whereas, the binder ensures durability to the users and solvent makes the paint fluid so that it can evaporate just after getting used. It is said that to have good coverage, the paint has to possess lots of pigment. But pigments are quite costly so most of the paints are seen to have filler that makes the paint thicker.
A proper painting can give your room an attractive look. So, if you want to bring a fresh and new look to your home you can opt out for bright paints. Room painting initially starts with ceiling painting and thereafter the wall gets painted. Some of the instructions that can be followed for painting a room are listed below:
- First the ceiling and walls need to be painted. The color you will choose entirely depends on your choice and room décor.
- Only painting a room should not be the end of your job. You should make sure that there is adequate ventilation in every room.
- It is always better to give three coats including one coat of primer along with two coats of finish. If you can notice unpainted and patched area on the surface you should definitely apply primer onto it.
- In order to paint different corners of the room you are needed to use small-sized paintbrushes. You can also use the same brush for outlining the borders, which connect the ceiling with the wall.
- It is better to paint from the dry to the wet areas. This truly reduces paint ridges.
After working for long hours if you think of taking rest, you should not forget to cover the buckets or else the entire paint may get evaporated.
